2018 Online (Agent) Pitch Day

Registration Closed

Once a year for a full 24 hours, members can pitch one unpublished (and never self-published), completed, polished women’s fiction manuscript, and within one week, agents reply to the posts they would like to pursue. This is a free, members-only event, but to give the agents a chance to focus on each pitch, the event is capped at a limited number of registrants.

The 2018 Online Pitch Session will be on July 18, 2018. Agents will be able to access pitches and ask for more information from Friday, July 20 through Friday, July 27. Members can see the current list of participating agents

** Please note: earlier versions of this event had an error which said participants post their novel's first 500 words (the correct number is first 250 words)

Due to overwhelming demand and for fairness, we have changed the registration this year to a lottery approach.

Click here to read more about why we chose to move to a lottery approach and details on how it will work.

Registration is on July 5 and will remain open all day until midnight ET. It does not matter at what time in the day you register. On July 6, if we have more members requesting to participate than slots available, we will use a lottery system to select the participants list. We will automatically add anyone who completed a registration form on July 5 and didn’t secure a place to the waiting list. All those who register will receive confirmation of their status by end of day on July 6.

Participating writers will be asked to post during the day of Wednesday, July 18 (before midnight). Pitch approvals will take place Wednesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 19.

If you plan to participate, you must be ready before July 18 with your 50-word pitch and first 250 words. As there is a chance you may be asked to modify your pitch (if it does not look like women's fiction, for example), please plan to be online to answer any moderators' questions during July 18 and 19.

Additional details and pitch posting instructions will be added to this event as they become available, and emailed to all participating members a week before the online pitch session. You can find great tips on how to write or improve your pitch, and examples of pitches that worked, in the Aspiring Author Toolbox.
