Description: Have you ever heard of Story Grid? Until the spring of 2018, WFWA member, editor, and writer Abigail K. Perry hadn’t either — but once she dove in, it changed her life.

Story Grid is a collection of editing and writing tools developed by editor Shawn Coyne to analyze stories and provide insightful (and practical) editing comments. With 30K plus subscribers (and growing), its terminology and concepts are becoming even more known, and for good reason: the methodologies are practical, applicable, and they work!

Join us for a webinar with Certified Story Grid Editor, Abigail Perry, for a deep dive into the Story Grid Universe. You’ll learn how you to use SG principles to identify and assess what’s working and not working in your stories using her 5 Steps to a Story Plan — before and/or after you’re done writing — for pantsers, plantsers, and plotters alike. You’ll also learn the essentials in the Story Grid toolbox for any future writing projects.

The five planning stages and tools you’ll learn in the webinar include:

1. Beginnings: What Kind of Story Planner are You?
2. Characters
3. Genre/Plot
4. Setting
5. Foolscap
