Description:

Readers are inundated with books they might want to read, so authors need to do everything they can to let readers know that their book is among those that are worth reading! In any field that’s packed with competing products, a powerful decision-influencer is the perception that other people—especially people whose opinions are widely-respected—already think it’s valuable. Thus, authors embark on a quest for “status enhancers:” endorsements from established authors (“blurbs”), awards, and prestigious trade reviews. Authors can invest a great deal of time (and money) seeking those accolades, so it’s important to ask: How can I approach this in a smart, strategic way? And, when a fee is involved, is it worth it? This webinar will provide a practical, down-to-earth approach with actionable tools and strategies covering:

  • Blurbs: what to do (and avoid doing) when seeking quotes from well-known authors.
  • Awards: which awards are worth applying for; how they work, and what they cost.
  • Other endorsements: trade reviews, paid and free.
